Mihir K. Bhayani is a leading head and neck surgical oncologist whose work has helped reshape the treatment landscape for oropharyngeal and other upper aerodigestive tract cancers. His research centers on surgical innovation, cancer epidemiology, and the evolution of minimally invasive, organ-preserving techniques. Dr. Bhayani is perhaps best known for his influential 2010 work on transoral robotic surgery (TORS), a landmark paper that helped establish TORS as a paradigm-shifting approach—reducing patient morbidity while maintaining the oncologic rigor of traditional open resections.
