About
Khaled Mohamed Khedher is a leading figure in satellite-based aerosol remote sensing, whose work has fundamentally advanced our ability to monitor air quality from space. His research centers on developing and refining algorithms for retrieving Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), a critical metric for understanding atmospheric particulate pollution and its climatic effects. Khedher’s most impactful contribution is the creation of the SEMARA approach, an innovative integration of surface reflectance and aerosol retrieval algorithms that enables high-resolution AOD mapping over complex urban areas.
