About

Hsin-Yu Liu is a pioneering roboticist whose research centers on humanoid robotics, intelligent human-robot interaction, and the integration of perception systems for autonomous manipulation. His most influential work, "Image Recognition and Force Measurement Application in the Humanoid Robot Imitation" (2011, 43 citations), established a foundational framework for enabling robots to imitate human motion through three critical processes: motion data acquisition, modification, and ankle angle adjustment. This work has significantly advanced the field of robot learning from demonstration. Liu’s impact is further demonstrated by his championship-winning design of the multiple-function intelligent robotic arm (2009, 21 citations), which secured first place in the inaugural HIWIN Intelligent Robotic Arms competition—a testament to his ability to translate complex theory into award-winning hardware. He has also made notable contributions to robotics education, developing a comprehensive course on humanoid robot motion simulation (2010, 19 citations) that introduces students to 16-DOF robot mechanics and multilink system concepts. His work on the Intelligent Interaction Dealer Robot (2010) showcases his skill in integrating image recognition, RFID, and kinematics to create autonomous systems capable of mimicking professional human actions.
