Dr. Howard Kaufman is a pioneering figure in the fields of oncolytic viral therapy and cancer immunotherapy. His seminal contributions have reshaped how we harness viruses to selectively infect and destroy tumor cells while simultaneously stimulating the body’s immune response. Kaufman’s work has been instrumental in translating laboratory discoveries into clinical breakthroughs, particularly through the development of talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC), the first FDA-approved oncolytic virus therapy for advanced melanoma.
