Deborah R. Billings is a pioneering researcher whose work has fundamentally shaped our understanding of trust in human-robot interaction (HRI). Her scholarship sits at the intersection of human factors psychology, robotics, and organizational behavior, with a sustained focus on identifying, measuring, and modeling the conditions under which humans develop confident, calibrated trust in automated and robotic systems.
