Akira Kawashima is a leading radiologist whose work has significantly advanced the non-invasive diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. His research centers on the integration of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) with targeted biopsy techniques, fundamentally shifting clinical practice away from random systematic sampling toward image-guided precision.
