Abstract
A new solution to the robotic assembly problem by means of a special pneumo-vortical module gripped by a robot is discussed. The assembling orienting module is successively supplied by necessary parts from vibro-hoppers or magazines, then it orients these parts and assembles them into a final product. The elements of the pneumo-vortical assembly theory and the results of computer-aided design, parametric and structural optimization of the assembly process are considered; the question how to arrange an assembly cell with a robot is discussed. An example of an assembly cell for two products is given along with the results of cell operation.
