Abstract

Flexible sensors became popular recently because of their promising results in the sensor applications. In this paper, we are demonstrating a flexible strain sensor made of Graphene Nanoplatelets (GNP) encapsulated between two films of Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) with a high sensitivity and flexibility. The sensor was designed and simulated on COMSOL. The analysis was carried out for different parameters and results were verified. The sensor designed and simulated here displayed a change in resistance when exposed to different forms of stress/strain, this property was used to interface the sensor to a microcontroller for various controlled robotics’ applications.
