Abstract
Precision agriculture is a site-specific crop management approach that is implemented to ensure that crops and soil obtain exactly what they require for optimum health and fecundity by using information technology. The primary purpose of Precision Agriculture is to ensure profitability, sustainability, and protection of the environment. These agricultural practices can be expanded by the employment of Artificial Intelligence Methods in them. Various AI technologies can potentially be implemented to achieve better crop health and assure increased crop productivity. Seasonal forecasting models can be generated using AI which helps to improve agricultural certainty. Also, there are AI sensors that can be used to for bear the excessive usage of herbicides on the weeds. Thus, this helps to reduce the toxins contents in food products. Furthermore, AI cameras-enabled drones work upon the method of obtaining real-time images of the entire agricultural area and identifying the problem areas thereby enhancing the cropyield by suggesting potential improvements. One of the shortcomings of farming practice is the lack of workforce. A viable solution to this shortage is AI bots. These bots augment the human labor workforce by utilizing them in various forms. These robots can harvest crops at a greater quantity and more accelerated pace than human laborers, they can precisely recognize and eliminate the weed. This paper reviews such Artificial Intelligence and cognitive technologies that are utilized in precision agriculture to manage the farm more efficiently and obtain optimum crop productivity.
