Abstract

The paper describes a real time multiprocessing fuzzy logic adaptive control gas tungsten arc welding system. Topics covered include a discussion of project participants, the multiprocessing hardware components including the robot, the part positioner, the multiprocessing control system, the weld process monitoring system, the torch/end effector and the wire guide configuration. The software framework and architecture are reviewed. Discussions of the real time multiprocessing software environment cover the robot and fuzzy logic controller software, as well as the nonreal time user interface software. The paper concludes with a discussion of future directions.
