Abstract

This paper presents an open source platform for mobile robotics teaching and researching. The structure is completely open source, the chassis is made of wood parts, easy to produce using laser cutting process and easy to assembly with classic joining elements, such as nuts and bolts. The platform is integrated with a wheel-known virtual robotics experimentation platform, named V-REP and the firmware is open-source. Line follower and decision-maker simulated, and experimental tests shown the proposed platform is feasible for teaching and researching mobile robotics, mainly because its low-cost ease of make features.
