SARA, an autonomous underwater vehicle for researches in Antarctica

Abstract

Within the Italian Program for Researches in Antarctica, a project aimed at developing a autonomous underwater robot was launched, SARA (Sottomarino Autonomo Robotizzato Antartico) will perform a number of missions in support of oceanography, glaciology, and biology, and constitute a platform in view of different applications, such as environmental survey and underwater plants inspection.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">&gt;</ETX>
