摘要
This article presents the results obtained during the design and development of an all-terrain robot for the research of service robotics applications on outdoor environments, with a strong focus on 3D reconstruction labors of outdoor environments. This document describes the mechanics of the all-terrain platform, its hardware and software architectures and its communication systems. Also a description of the robots perceptive system can be found, finally as an additional contribution, an algorithm for automatic environment exploration is presented, in which captured 3D information from the environment is analyzed in order to choose the next best position for a 3D scan according to different criteria. The presented results show that our system is useful for outdoor 3D reconstruction.
