Yuko Shirai is a pioneering roboticist whose work bridges human-robot symbiosis and environmental design, with a particular focus on aging societies and forestry automation. Her most influential contributions center on the WABOT-HOUSE Project, which explores how robots can adapt to both humans and their environments—a critical need in Japan’s rapidly aging population.
