Waqas Asghar is a leading innovator in flexible and stretchable electronics, with a research focus on developing advanced sensors for human-machine interfaces, soft robotics, and health monitoring. His major contributions center on engineering novel microstructures and material architectures to dramatically enhance sensor performance. In his highly cited 2020 work (131 citations), Asghar introduced a piezocapacitive e-skin pressure sensor utilizing magnetically grown microstructures, a low-cost, large-area-compatible strategy that set a new benchmark for sensitivity.
