About

Ting Yin is a pioneering researcher at the frontier of micro/nanorobotics and precision medicine, whose work is redefining how we deliver cellular immunotherapies and treat inflammatory diseases. Her primary research areas focus on designing bio-inspired micro/nanorobots that leverage multimodal actuation—including magnetic, acoustic, and enzymatic propulsion—to navigate the body’s most challenging biological environments. Yin’s major contributions include the development of the first magnetic–acoustic sequentially actuated CAR T cell microrobot (M-CAR T), a breakthrough that addresses the critical limitations of CAR T-cell therapy in solid tumors by enabling precision navigation and in situ antitumor immunoactivation. She also engineered the twin-bioengine self-adaptive micro/nanorobot (TBY-robot), which uses enzyme actuation and a macrophage relay system for targeted gastrointestinal inflammation therapy. Both of these landmark studies have rapidly garnered over 80 citations each within just two years, underscoring their immediate impact on the field. Her recent work on multimodal actuation strategies for environment-adaptive robots continues to push the boundaries of what these miniature therapeutic vehicles can achieve.
