Svjetlana Kalanj Bognar is a leading researcher in neuroglycobiology, with a primary focus on the role of gangliosides—sialic acid-containing glycosphingolipids—in brain tumor biology and metastasis. Her major contributions lie in developing and applying advanced mass spectrometry methodologies to map and structurally characterize these complex molecules.
