About
Ruijun Fu is a pioneering researcher in the field of medical microrobotics and in-body radio frequency (RF) localization, whose work has laid critical groundwork for the next generation of wireless medical applications. Fu’s primary research areas include RF propagation within biological tissues, micro-robotic navigation, and the theoretical limits of in-body positioning systems. In their seminal 2011 paper, "RF localization inside human body: Enabling micro-robotic navigation for medical applications," Fu introduced the foundational challenges of using the human body as a medium for RF-based navigation of smart robots. This work provided the first rigorous analysis of the Cramér–Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) for in-body localization, establishing a theoretical framework that has guided subsequent research.
