Philip Stier is a leading figure in atmospheric science, whose research focuses on the critical intersection of aerosols, clouds, and climate. His work is central to understanding how tiny particles in the atmosphere influence the Earth's energy balance and climate system. A major contribution is his leadership in the AeroCom and AeroSat initiatives, where he has driven the systematic evaluation of global aerosol models against satellite observations.
