Dr. Patrick C. Melder is a pioneering otolaryngologist who has been instrumental in translating robotic surgical technology into the field of head and neck surgery. His foundational work focuses on the application of the da Vinci Surgical System to otolaryngology, a domain where anatomical constraints had previously limited endoscopic approaches. Dr. Melder’s major contributions include demonstrating the feasibility and safety of robotic-assisted surgery for complex airway and upper aerodigestive tract pathologies.
