About

Nicholas Faulkes is a leading researcher in human-robot interaction, with a focus on the deployment of socially assistive robots in care settings for older adults. His work bridges artificial intelligence, cultural competence, and gerontechnology. Faulkes was the principal investigator of the landmark CARESSES project, culminating in a 2021 randomised controlled trial (101 citations) that demonstrated how culturally competent AI embedded in social robots can positively impact older adult wellbeing in care homes.
