About

Dr. Masayuki Kogoshi is pioneering the integration of robotics and precision agriculture to address critical challenges in global food production. His research focuses on developing autonomous systems for high-throughput, in-field crop and soil analysis. Dr. Kogoshi’s most notable contribution is the design and pilot study of a mobile laboratory robot capable of performing various and precise multipoint measurements directly in agricultural fields. This work, published in 2023, directly tackles the labor-intensive and time-consuming nature of traditional soil and crop sampling, aiming to boost localized management and agricultural productivity. To accelerate the development and evaluation of such robots, he has also created a novel dynamics simulator that operates on high-resolution 3D point-cloud models of agricultural fields, enabling year-round, efficient testing independent of growing seasons. With his recent publications already garnering citations, Dr. Kogoshi is establishing himself as a key innovator in agricultural robotics, providing essential tools and methodologies for a more data-driven and automated future in farming.
