Jawhara Farhat is a rising leader in orthopaedic surgery, with a focused expertise in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and the advancement of personalized, robotic-assisted surgical techniques. Her research centers on improving functional outcomes and patient satisfaction by moving beyond traditional alignment methods. Farhat’s most impactful work, a 2023 study with 52 citations, demonstrates that functional positioning principles in image-based robotic-assisted TKA yield a significantly higher Forgotten Joint Score at one year compared to conventional TKA with restricted kinematic alignment, highlighting a major contribution to individualized joint reconstruction. She also developed and validated a novel measurement technique for restoring trochlear offset after robotic-assisted TKA, a critical but often-overlooked factor in anterior knee function and patellofemoral mechanics.
