About

Hamed Malekmohammadi is at the forefront of advanced manufacturing and smart materials, specializing in bio-composite design, 3D printing, and the development of soft multi-functional meta-structures. His most-cited work introduces a novel class of tuneable quasi-constant force meta-structures, achieving a remarkable quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) plateau of 6 mm with a force range of 2.3–5.12 N. By integrating 3% biochar (BC) and 1% carbon nanotubes (CNT), he enhanced tensile strength by 86% while reducing the burning rate by 35% compared to pure thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). His designs demonstrate exceptional durability, with 88% higher cyclic energy dissipation and 98% maximum-force retention after 1,000 cycles, effectively mitigating Mullins softening. With 6 citations to date, this work represents a significant leap in creating resilient, lightweight, and tunable mechanical metamaterials for applications in soft robotics, impact absorption, and biomedical devices. Malekmohammadi’s research bridges sustainable materials science and additive manufacturing, offering scalable solutions for next-generation smart structures.
