About
Federico Paparcura is a leading gynecologic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on robotic surgery, patient safety, and the management of endometrial cancer, particularly in high-risk populations. His major contributions include demonstrating the safety and efficacy of robotic-assisted laparoscopy for severely obese, frail patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer. In a landmark 2025 propensity-matched study from an ESGO-accredited center, he showed that robotic surgery yields favorable perioperative outcomes even in this challenging cohort, a finding with significant clinical impact (13 citations). Paparcura is also a pioneer in applying aviation-derived safety models to gynecologic surgery. His 2024 narrative review on employing checklists and crew resource management principles to reduce errors in robotic procedures addresses a critical gap, as robotic surgery was recently listed among the top 10 health hazards. This work underscores his commitment to systematic error reduction and has already garnered attention (3 citations). By bridging surgical innovation with proven safety frameworks, Paparcura is shaping a future where complex robotic gynecologic procedures are both more accessible and safer for vulnerable patients.
