About
Damien Dornic is an astrophysicist at the forefront of transient astronomy, specializing in the robotic follow-up of cosmic explosions. His research focuses on gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), gravitational wave counterparts, and neutrino sources, leveraging rapid-response optical telescopes to capture the fleeting moments of the most energetic events in the universe. Dornic has been instrumental in the development and scientific exploitation of the COLIBRI 1.3-meter robotic telescope in Mexico, a key ground-based asset for the Sino-French SVOM satellite mission.
