Carl F. R. Weiman is a pioneering robotics and computer vision researcher whose work has made significant contributions to autonomous mobile robotics, biologically-inspired imaging systems, and active vision. He is perhaps best known for developing HelpMate, one of the earliest successful deployments of an autonomous mobile robot in a real-world environment.
