About
Alessandro Massaro is an Italian researcher whose work spans nanocomposite sensing technologies, optoelectronics, robotics, and emerging industrial applications. He is best known for pioneering the development of gold-PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) nanocomposite sensors, which leverage plasmonic properties to enable highly sensitive optical detection of pressure, shear force, and liquid presence. His landmark 2011 paper on nanocomposite pressure sensors integrated into robotic tactile systems has garnered 66 citations, establishing him as a leading voice in soft, flexible sensing for robotics.
