About
Zhuangying Xu is a researcher at the forefront of human-robot interaction and mixed-reality systems, with a focus on making robot programming accessible to non-experts. Their most influential work, "V.Ra" (2019, 41 citations), introduces a visual and spatial programming system for robot-IoT task authoring. In this system, mobile robots act as binding agents that link stationary IoT devices to perform collaborative tasks, creating a coherent ecosystem connecting robots, IoTs, and task plans. Xu extended this concept with an in-situ authoring approach using augmented reality (2019, 11 citations), enabling users to program robots directly within their physical environment.
