About
Sundresan Perumal is a forward-looking researcher addressing two of the most critical challenges in modern technology and environmental science: the security of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the global plastic pollution crisis. His work in IoT security, particularly through the development of advanced IPv6-based security mechanisms, tackles the fundamental vulnerabilities in the interconnected sensor and RFID networks that underpin smart systems. With a focus on escalating privacy and protection, this contribution is vital for the safe expansion of IoT in corporate and social applications. More recently, Perumal has pioneered a novel, interdisciplinary approach to environmental sustainability. His highly cited 2025 study, "Novel Approaches to Plastic Pollution," leverages the power of machine learning and metaproteomics to engineer advanced plastic degradation solutions. This work offers a groundbreaking alternative to inadequate recycling and landfill methods, directly addressing one of the planet's most pressing ecological threats. By bridging the gap between computational analysis and biological remediation, Perumal is establishing himself as a key innovator at the intersection of technology and environmental stewardship.
