Dr. Sheng-Tang Wu is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research has significantly advanced the field of minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery for urological cancers. His work focuses on improving surgical outcomes and understanding the long-term effects of these procedures. Dr. Wu’s most impactful study, with 23 citations, investigated the incidence of inguinal hernia following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), identifying a critical risk for patients within the first two years post-surgery. He was also an early adopter of robotic technology in Taiwan, reporting the initial experience with robotic laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2008, a landmark paper that helped establish the technique in the region.
