Dr. Reetesh Ranjan is a leading head and neck surgical oncologist whose pioneering work has reshaped the role of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) in treating head and neck cancers, particularly in the Indian subcontinent. His research focuses on de-intensifying treatment for HPV-negative oropharyngeal and supraglottic carcinomas, demonstrating that TORS can achieve excellent oncological outcomes while reducing the morbidity of traditional chemoradiation. His landmark prospective trial on de-intensification for stage I-II HPV-negative oropharyngeal cancers (35 citations) and subsequent work on stage III-IV disease (27 citations) have been instrumental in establishing TORS as a viable primary treatment modality.
