About

Cleiton Rodrigues Mendes is at the forefront of intelligent manufacturing, pioneering the integration of Digital Twins (DT) with industrial robotics. His research focuses on creating high-fidelity virtual replicas of physical systems, specifically applied to the customization and control of 3D-printed SCARA robots. In his highly cited 2024 work, Mendes demonstrated how Digital Twins can revolutionize the design and production of these robots, enabling unprecedented levels of personalization within smart factories. Building on this foundation, his 2025 study breaks new ground by fusing Digital Twin technology with the Internet of Things (IoT) and Long Range (LoRa) wireless networks. This innovative architecture achieves decentralized automation for SCARA robots, allowing for robust, real-time monitoring and control over vast distances without the constraints of traditional wired systems. By combining these cutting-edge technologies, Mendes is solving critical challenges in flexibility and efficiency for Industry 4.0. His work, already garnering early citations, is establishing a clear blueprint for the next generation of agile, wirelessly connected, and intelligent robotic systems.
