About
Angeliki Kavga is a leading researcher at the intersection of agricultural engineering and smart technology, whose work is redefining sustainable greenhouse cultivation. Her primary research areas include the Internet of Things (IoT), precision agriculture, and renewable energy integration within controlled environment agriculture. Kavga’s most significant contributions lie in developing intelligent, automated systems that enhance both economic and environmental sustainability. Her highly cited 2021 study on "Innovative Training on Smart Greenhouse Technologies" (50 citations) established a framework for leveraging big data, AI, and robotics to boost farmer profitability and crop yields. She further advanced the field by designing an integrated IoT-based control system for a three-device robotic platform (31 citations), addressing the critical challenge of terrestrial surveillance in large hydroponic installations. Most recently, Kavga has explored the synergy between energy production and crop health, investigating the impact of greenhouse-integrated photovoltaics on Aloe vera cultivation at the University of Patras. Through her pioneering work, Kavga is not only optimizing agricultural outputs but also paving the way for a more resilient, data-driven, and energy-efficient future in smart farming.
