Abstract
The project "Assistor" examines the application of a new machine concept: assisting, interactive manipulators. The devices are handlings systems to work in direct, physical contact with a human worker. Main emphasis of ASSISTOR are the determination of suitable operation methods and interaction modes between men and robots and the ensurance of a safe co-operation by means of the development of sensor, controller and hardware concepts.
