Abstract
The Hybrid Aerial/Underwater RobotiC System (HAUCS) is a transformative robotic system that aims to bring fundamental innovations to how aquaculture farms operate. This paper will present the initial hardware development effort in the first year of the HAUCS project. One major success was that land-based automated dissolved oxygen (DO) acquisition systems were developed and deployed at our research partner - Logan Hollow Fish Farm. The sensor development and deployment efforts will be discussed. Our aim in developing a payload extension to achieve efficient underwater sensing without the platform diving into the water will be addressed.
