Abstract
Properly sized robots that are modularized in structure and properly adapted to different terrain and environment can enhance personnel safety and improve flexibility and efficiency of mine clearance activities. Such intelligent machines supported by intelligence and decision making functionalities can speed up land clearance process and improve accuracy when properly integrated with effective mine detection devices/sensors. Humanitarian demining task demands to have coordinated, lightweight and low-cost multi robotic systems that are featured by multi operational modes and can integrate fast, effective and accurate mine detection/deactivation capabilities. Such coordinated multi robotic systems works with closer shared supervision with a monitoring station. The structures of individual robots in the system constitute Multi levels of control enhanced by different sensors to support collective navigational behavior facilitated by radio coordination. The structure of the robot was designed to assure that the ground pressure by the robot should avoid exploding a land mine. The robot has to search a wide area assuring effective and fast coverage.
