Abstract

We propose a force feedback algorithm that combines guidance and forbidden region virtual fixtures to enhance the safety in robot assisted endonasal neurosurgery, the concept was tested using virtual reality simulation, and the results from the experiments showed compact tool trajectories with a decrease in the harmful contacts.
