Abstract

Economic benefit of an industrial company depends on forethought deployment of an industrial production system. Production processes are being optimized using variety of models in order to maximize revenue of the company. Application of robotic systems on the production sites increases effectiveness of the industrial company providing variety of automation approaches. Configuration of robotic system affects whole production process, and selection of inappropriate option can lead to financial losses of the company. Authors propose the procedure for optimization of specification of multi-robot system which is based on decomposition approach and use genetic algorithm for initial evaluation of the solution candidates. Paper describes setup of genetic algorithm used as well as estimation model for investment and operating costs, which is used as fitness function in genetic algorithm.
