A Flame Sensor-Based Firefighting Assistance Robot with Simulation Based Multi-Robot Implementation

Abstract
This paper proposes a system whose aim is to assist firefighters in fire accidents by moving through the entire site of the accident and capturing live video that can be live streamed to a remotely placed display. The proposed system is a hardware-based robot which will move across the workspace and detect fire in the proximity using a flame sensor and extinguish the fire using a water pump and the entire scene will be live streamed through a wireless camera placed on the robot itself. In addition to the hardware an attempt has been made to propose the ideas of deploying multiple such robots in the same arena which can avoid obstacles and live stream the entire scene in the simulation environment with the help of simulation created using “CoppeliaSim Edu” robot simulator. This paper also aims to discuss the possible implementations to contribute towards technological innovations to assist firefighters to conduct rescue operations and damage control operations in much efficient ways.
