Abstract
Open Innovation (OI), a paradigm for managing innovation, can draw value from the way innovation is approached by fields such as design. To explore this, we conducted a design-led workshop with the academic stakeholders of a new, purposefully created OI orchestrator - the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Hub in Queensland, Australia. The result is an enriched discussion on the application of OI and a set of principles for the ARM Hub to draw upon in value creation and relationship management for all collaborators. This application will interest those seeking to navigate open innovation practices through a design-led approach.
