Abstract
In the paper we presented the implementation of patients’ temperature measurement system to humanoid medical robotic assistant. Robot (called Bobot) was developed in Bialystok University of Technology (Poland) and it was designed both as a machine supporting medical staff in children hospitals and as a companion robot for young patients. The construction is equipped with many sensors and diagnostic functions. Temperature measurement is one of the most important of them. In the paper we discussed the embedded temperature measurement system for our construction. Hardware and software architecture and integration with Robot Operating System (ROS) were described in details. In the last part of the paper we present the results of implemented measurement technologies, describe differences, name advantages and disadvantages and draw conclusions. Moreover, in order to improve diagnostic functions, we propose some improvements in our medical robot.
