Abstract
The paper presents an example of the use of the Pepper humanoid robot at work at the reception. Its built-in possibilities of interaction with humans have been extended with additional capabilities by including external devices and modules. The concept of an automatic receptionist system built upon the Pepper robot is presented, as well as the construction and testing of selected elements of the video module and the speech-to-text module. These modules provide information for the robot control system, necessary for effective communication with humans. Technical problems encountered and selected research results of the presented conception and implemented modules were also discussed.
