摘要

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an emergency across the globe. Within a short span, it has changed the habits and lifestyles of people. It massively affected every aspect of an individual's life and propensities. Its socio-economic impact is seen in every country in the world. In this chapter, the objective is to study the overall impact of the coronavirus in our society and the role of various technologies, technological devices, and technological applications in the battle against the coronavirus infection. Artificial intelligence, computer vision, 3D printing, vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), blockchain, telehealth technology, drones, robots, open source technology, mobile apps, and video conferencing are discussed in the technologies, technological devices, and technological applications. The overall impact includes both positive and negative effects on various sectors like health, transportation, Internet data consumption, economy, sports, entertainment, agriculture, and environment. The severe impact of COVID-19 and the role of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, in combating the virus are specified here, and various statistical data for this survey are also presented.
