Design of Arduino based android controllable lawn mower

摘要
Conventional lawn mower machines are generally not effective enough because it has to be carried to the place where we want to mow the grass. In this study, the authors develop an Arduino based lawn mower that can be controlled using an Android phone. An Android lawn mower application is developed and connected to the mower through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The application controls the direction of the lawn mower and activate / deactivate its cutting blade motor. A camera module placed in front of the robot, so that it can display what is in front of the camera on the lawn mower application. The result of this design is that the lawn mower can be controlled at a maximum distance of 60 meters without obstacles and 30 meters with trees and walls as barriers. The camera can display the video stream if the robot is maximum 25m away from Wi-Fi point. To conclude, the lawn mower based on Arduino controller has been developed. It worked and can be controlled via Android mobile over Wi-Fi.
