The integration of digital technologies and intelligent processes, Industry 4.0, or the fourth industrial revolution, is radically changing the production background. By using artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics, it signifies the confluence of electronic and physical processes. As a means of maximizing operational flexibility and efficiency, Industry 4.0 is currently being widely adopted by industries throughout the world. Smart factories are quickly taking off, especially in the industrial sector. They use precise information from related devices to optimize processes and do predictive maintenance, which increases output. Industry 4.0 has the promise of revolutionizing the production processes for metal-matrix composites (MMCs). While additive manufacturing gains from real-time monitoring, which ensures consistency and customization, digital tools facilitate exact design and simulation. Enhanced accuracy and adaptability are achieved on manufacturing lines using collaborative robotics and automation, and IoT—powered Real-time monitoring of vital metrics and quick flaw identification. Digital twins and augmented reality together improve testing, optimization, and simulation procedures even further, leading to more sophisticated MMCs that are customized to meet particular needs. This chapter explores the wide-ranging use of Industry 4.0, highlighting its importance from fabrication to testing and underscoring its bright future in MMC production.
