摘要
Collision detection is a fundamental problem in robotics, computer animation, physically based modeling and computer simulation environments. This paper explains the collision detection problem in 3D domains. It reviews the problem and the techniques used to solve it. Many algorithms used in collision detection are discussed. Finally, it shows the way VRML detects collision using collision node. The browser is responsible for detecting collisions between the viewer and the objects in the virtual world, and is responsible for adjusting the viewer’s location when a collision occurs. Also, the collision detection can be set during run-time by using the plug-ins program. A VRML model for aircraft was built as case study for Collision detection.
