Xiuzhong Hu’s research spans two distinct yet impactful domains: urological workforce development and heterogeneous aquatic robotics. In urology, Hu led a landmark census of Chinese urological surgeons, systematically analyzing their demographics, training, research output, and clinical workloads. This foundational study, published in 2019 and cited 5 times, provides critical evidence for optimizing talent pipelines and healthcare policy in China’s urology sector. Simultaneously, Hu has ventured into robotics, co-authoring a comprehensive 2025 survey on heterogeneous aquatic robot systems.
