About
Xavier Leroy is a pioneering urologic surgeon and researcher whose work has redefined the surgical management of localized prostate cancer. His primary research focus is on organ-sparing techniques, particularly partial prostatectomy, which he has championed as a viable alternative to radical treatments for select patients with low- to intermediate-risk disease. Leroy’s major contribution lies in demonstrating that anterior prostate cancers can be effectively treated with robotic-assisted partial prostatectomy, preserving functional outcomes without compromising oncologic control. His seminal 2016 paper, "Partial Prostatectomy for Anterior Cancer: Short-term Oncologic and Functional Outcomes" (54 citations), established the safety and feasibility of this approach.
