About
Taiki Kato is a pioneering urological surgeon whose research centers on robotic-assisted renal access for stone disease and minimally invasive urologic oncology. His most impactful work involves the development and clinical validation of robot-assisted fluoroscopy-guided puncture for percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery (ECIRS). In a landmark randomized, single-blind clinical trial (2022, 33 citations), Kato demonstrated that robotic-assisted fluoroscopic-guided renal access offers comparable outcomes to ultrasound guidance, advancing precision in stone surgery.
